Here at PlayMoreGolf we have been looking at some great golf documentaries to watch when you are unable to hit the fairways. Here’s our top 5 picks: **Number 5: The Back Nine** The Back Nine made in 2009 shows the journey of a novice golfer trying to realise his dreams of playing professional golf. At the age of 40 he gets the best coaches out there to improve his mental fitness and techniques to try and achieve his lifelong dream.  A great topic for this documentary which runs just under an hour and a half. This documentary falls at number 5 due in part to it being a little poorly executed. Still worth a watch on a rainy day. Available to watch on Amazon Prime **Number 4: Uneven Fairways** This is a great documentary narrated by Samuel L Jackson telling the story of African-American golfers who were segregated from the PGA. Released in 2009 the documentary runs for just over 45 minutes with contributions from PGA Players including Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. It’s a very important topic in our golf history and definitely something that is worth learning more about.  Can be watched through Sky Catch up [here](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/catch-up/12295937/uneven-fairways/more/15) for those who have a sky subscription. **Number 3: The Short Game** This documentary which was produced by Hollywood Power Couple Jessica Biel and her husband Justin Timberlake is a 2013 documentary looking at the 2012 U.S Kids Golf World Championships, showing the trials and tribulations of both the young golfers and their families. With the young golfers coming from as far away as Johannesburg and Manila you get to see a glimpse of what it can be like for a young golfer competing at the highest level. With a running time of an hour and 20 minutes it’s a great watch and Jack Nicklaus also makes an appearance! Available to watch on Netflix. **Number 2: Loopers: The Caddie’s Long Walk** The Caddie’s Long Walk released in 2019 looks at what some people might feel is golf’s overlooked participant, the golf caddie. Narrated by the one and only Bill Murray who enhances the documentary with his comedic talents, you get an insight into the relationship between the golfer and caddie and how important they are to many in the world of golf.  Can be watched on Amazon Prime **Number 1: The Founders** At number one, this 2016 documentary shows how a selection of women golfers battled prejudice in the 1950s to create the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and become professional sportswomen. The documentary highlights the struggles of these 13 women who wanted to make a change. What these amazing women achieved over 70 years ago is a great watch, showing how their movement all those years ago helped create many opportunities for women golfers today. The Founders is our number 1 as it’s an interesting topic for golf lovers but also a good watch on Amazon for those with limited interest in the sport. There are those Golfers who believe that when the clocks go back, their clubs get stored away and do not come back out until the Spring. But if you can’t give up your golfing fix for that long then we have some tricks of the trade that will ensure you still get out on the (sometimes) greens.
