Golf provides the ideal opportunity for you and your family to enjoy quality outdoor time in beautiful surroundings while making the most of the away points in your membership.  It can be tricky getting a round of golf in while you are on holiday with the family.  Finding the balance of picnics, bike rides, relaxation time and golf can be difficult. To try and make things easier for you we’ve selected five family-friendly days out based around 5 of our clubs so you can enjoy days out together. Of course, if your kids are that little bit older you can book them on as juniors through your points.

RYDE GOLF CLUB, ISLE OF WIGHT

Renowned for its breath-taking coastline and friendly locals, the Isle of Wight is the perfect setting for a family day out or weekend away, maybe you’re going for Cowes Week to the fantastic music festival. After a round of golf at the Ryde Golf Club, where you may improve your swing with some highly informative golfing lessons, pack your family into your car and whisk them off to Puckpool Park, a mere 8 minute drive away. This naturally beautiful environment is perfect for a picnic, duck feeding or bird watching. Or, if your children are the more adventurous type, you can partake in some go-karting at Wight Karting or scale new heights at Goodleaf tree climbing.

Dudsbury Golf Club, DORSET

Located in Ferndown, Bournemouth, the Dudsbury Golf Club is close to numerous family attractions well worth a visit following your round of golf. Just a stone’s throw away is Bournemouth seaside, Dreamboats river cruises and Moore’s Valley Country Park, all of which cater for families of all shapes and sizes. Don’t forget, Dudsbury Golf Club also offers luxury accommodation, a highly recommended restaurant and a relaxing spa, so you may want to make a full weekend event of it to get the most from the experience.

Studley Wood Golf CluB, OXFORDSHIRE

Oxford is a bustling, historic city packed with culture, arts and wonderful cuisine. So, it’s important you make the most of the area when visiting Studley Wood Golf Club. If you’re travelling with kids, they may enjoy the iconic fudge kitchen, where you can learn about making fudge and treat yourselves to a sweet snack afterwards. If you’re leaving the kids at home, make your way over to the Oxford Artisan Distillery or join an Oxford Walking Tour. There is an abundance of good eateries in Oxford, so you’ll have plenty to pick from no matter your taste or budget.

Carden Park - Nicklaus Course, CHESHIRE

Carden Park offers a stunning array of facilities including its renowned spa, luxury hotel accommodation, a 3-acre vineyard, falconry and several first-class restaurants. For that reason, we anticipate that your round of golf may turn into a full day of wonderful and relaxing activities for all to relish. But should you step away from Carden Park for a few hours, you can find some exhilarating family activities a short drive away, including Muddy Good Fun and a Land Rover Experience. If you’re looking for evening entertainment you may also want to find out what’s on at the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.

Dore & Totley Golf Club, SOUTH YORKSHIRE

South Yorkshire offers everything you could want from a beautiful English countryside, so first and foremost after a round of golf at Dore & Totley Golf Club, we recommend you make the most of the natural environment by visiting Ecclesall Woods or Ladies Spring Woods. You’ll also find a number of botanical gardens and large estates nearby, setting the ideal scene for a family picnic or game of rounders! A short 15 minute drive from the golf club is also the Mayfield Alpacas, which gives you an opportunity to feed, walk and stroke the alpacas for a very affordable price.

Of course, the list doesn’t end there.
